SiteReviewer directory

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

I am thinking about using this lovely plugin on SiteReviewer.net for paid site reviews. In the meantime reciprocal links are free and paid links only $10 for a limited time.

We’ve just migrated over from SiteSift to phpLD and the directpory is now extremely SE friendly.

Paid listings are processed within 24 hours.

Access to Music via the Internet opening up a whole new world of choice

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

One of the real benefits of the rapidly expanding services now available via the Internet is the massive expansion in the provision of online music and related services.

Gone are the days of waiting until Saturday morning to get a bus into your local town to go to the record shop to buy the latest recording from your favourite artist.

Today there are many new and exciting services provided via the Internet to make this task a whole lot easier and much more immediate.

With a click of your mouse, your favourite music can be downloaded and in an instant loaded to your favourite iPod or whatever is your MP3 player of choice.

The ability to download music and material is a dream come true for most music lovers. The simple fact that you can now access and download your favourite tracks and music onto your MP3 singly as opposed to the old days of having to buy the entire album. The satisfaction of now being able to enjoy your music without having to endure the always ever present dodgy tracks usually reserved for midway through side two of any album or Cassette.

Happy days indeed.

There are practically hundreds of services that are now on offer and the choice of material available has never been wider. Because of the nature of the medium involved and the benefits of economies of scale, services are now available that would not have been commercially viable even as recently as a few years back.

If you were to ask most people about Music service online then probably the two most used phrases in any reply would contain the words iPod and Amazon but in reality these are only the tip of the iceberg.

There are hundreds of other stores where you can purchase and download music just as easily. There are now in place distribution services that are connected directly to the major record labels themselves. More and more sites are popping up everyday also that are offering free song lyrics to view.

An example of this is Connect, which is the in-house pay-per-track service for Sony Music. It also handles music from other record labels as well. One of the downsides recently with the whole business of purchasing and downloading music from online sources has been the restrictive software used up until recently by the major labels to prevent the unauthorised copying and distribution of material. In a word an attempt to avoid Piracy.

This short sided approach has now been changed with the landmark decision reached recently between EMI Music and iPod whereby you can now transfer music from one source to another.

However there are few things that you need to take into consideration when getting involved in all of this. Firstly the pricing, expensive prices does not necessarily relate to good quality. Secondly the quality of the music provided, it is not always as good all-round, you would be surprised so check first. Lastly what format do you require your music to be in to ensure compatibility with whatever music player you are using?

Sounded so easy at the start did it not? It still is, all that you have to do is check the basics first.

Link Building

Saturday, April 14th, 2007

Build it and they will come. OK, great sounds terrific in a Hollywood Blockbuster but in the real world life is actually a little different.

In other words, results have to be a bit more immediate, for example:

Client “How is our online link building promotion coming on?”

SEO: “It is going really well, we have started to put into place some really solid foundations which will act as part of a Link baiting and SMO Strategy which will yield massive results. Link building if carried out carefully is the cornerstone on which the Internet thrives”

Client: “How long is this all going to take and what sort of time line have you put into place?”

SEO: “Well link building is always a tenuous business that sometimes takes time to for the true value of the results to show themselves. None of the major search engines like to be rushed in anything they do with regards to the monitoring of inbound links. MSN may start to recognise links within 4-6 weeks, Yahoo in 2-3 Months and if we are lucky then we could get some Kudos and goodwill from Google within 6-9 months.

Client: “So what you are saying is….?”

SEO: What we are saying is that you cannot rush an exercise like this if you want to see the quality results. You should have to allow for 6 months minimum for us to monitor and see exactly where we are with regards to our links and then another 6 months to react to that first assessment.”

Client: “Stop treating me as if I am an idiot and get buying some links and have a report on my desk before next Months meeting if you wish to keep this account!”

Well folks, how do you deal with that one? Sounds familiar doesn’t it?

You have two choices in your online campaigns. Live or die, it is that simple.

Get results and you live to fight another day, lose out and you are toast, as they say.

So what do you have to do to succeed? Well as the fictional discussion highlighted above, to succeed and get profile in the online world you need inbound links both in quality and in quantity. The next burning issue to be resolved is how long for all of this to happen?

“In the long run, we are all dead” states the noted and eminent Economist John Maynard Keynes (founder of the whole Keynesian School of Economics and eminent member of the Bloomsbury group) and never more has this been more applicable to the world of Online activities.

Stand still and if you are very lucky then the best you can hope for is for life to pass you by with minimal fuss. If you are extremely unlucky then whilst in the process of passing you by, your competition may well just flatten you in the process for good measure.

Buying your links now and getting a jump on the competition may, just may, get you out of that nightmare scenario and leave you to continue your brave fight with the world until next

You have the high end segment that is aimed for people who want the latest and best features in their phones, such features like WLAN and a GPS mentioned above. You can usually get these phones as Pay as You go Mobile (also known as prepay)which means that you pay an amount in advance and then you can call for this amount. Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Wamchu is a very nice business directory. It is very easy navigate and the look is clean and modern. The color scheme is easy on the eyes.

One of the great about Wamchu is the thumbnail image that is located in front of every listing. This is a very important feature to visually driven visitors that like to preview the site before clicking on the link. It also gives the directory a very professional and friendly feel.
